Did Picard Ever Reveal/Discuss Meeting Kirk in Generations?

^ Stewart's and Shatner's interaction off screen, resulted in a increase in Picard's ability to ride a horse with skill during Generations. Definite impact on the character.

Wasn't Picard already established as being a skilled horse rider throughout the show?

Melinda Snodgrass wrote a teaser 2nd season that gave this impression about Picard, and even gave an interview to the effect that Stewart was okay on horseback, but that wasn't really borne out by anything on screen.

I do remember a scene where Data goes into the holodeck and meets Picard riding a horse. Can't say which episode though. And in the die hard episode, Picard was getting his saddle when he spot the terrorists.

"Pen Pals," the very same Melinda Snodgrass episode that trevanian was referring to.

Recently watched Generations again, wherein Picard meets and buries Kirk.

Does Picard address that in any of the novels, or in the films? One would think the experience would be memorable.

[shameless plug]Picard discusses the very thing with Scotty and McCoy in my short story "Solemn Duty" in Strange New Worlds VII. :)

There was an episode later on in the series where Picard is supposed to be on leave, but goes back to the ship for his saddle and gets to do 'Die Hard' in space.

It isn't Die Hard in space unless Picard is in a Jefferies tube complaining about the situation.

In Losing the Peace, he quotes what Kirk told him about "don't let them promote you" to (you guessed it!) dodge a promotion.

I'll refrain from mentioning more of the incident, since you obviously haven't read it yet.

I thought they rode different styles, but maybe it's my faulty memory. Shatner rode Western and I could swear Picard rode English. Look at their saddles and how they hold their reins. I'm fairly certain a guy who rides Western can't teach a guy to ride English, or vice-versa.

'Yippee-kay-ai, person who enjoys an incestuous relationship with his mother!'

There should have been a scene with a turbolift. But at least we got Picard crawling through the Jeffries tube.

I thought Kirk and Picard's friendship was the best thing to come out of the Shatnerverse. And it wasn't a friendship that was all smiles and stuff - they had their sharp differences of opinion from time to time, totally in-character for both of them.

And I feel its organic enough, because there's no reason to believe those two wouldn't be friends. Its not a Sisko-Picard friendship or anything....

(Although I could totally see a Kirk-Sisko camarederie, had they chosen to do that)
