Did Geordie lie to Barclay?

Rewatched "Realm of Fear" last night and there was a scene where Barclay asks Geordie "Has anything unusual ever happened to you using the transporter?" or words to that effect. Geordie replies, "Not really. no."

Well, there was that time when he rematerialized invisible, inaudible and intangible to the rest of the ship (The Next Phase). So was Geordie lying so as to not feed Barclay's paranoia or was this just (another) case of the writers dropping the ball?

Also, in "Next Phase" did anybody ever explain why He and Ro were able to walk through wall but not sink through the floor?

I think Geordie was thinking of the Transporter system itself, not how it had been influenced by the Romulan phasing cloak. Same with having two Rikers with the Transporter- it was an outside influence not something inherent in the device.

Why they did not pass through the floor was never addressed. My theory is while they were out of phase in most ways, they were not entirely separated from the world. Gravity plating still worked with them, otherwise they would have been floating and drifting around instead of walking- since each deck had the gravity plates they remained at floor level just like the in phase crew.

Dramatic license. It would have been too hard to film Geordi and Ro floating around. So it's easier just to let them walk.

I wondered more about how they breathed- their out of phase lungs would not interact with the in-phase air...

Considerin' Barcley was on the ship when Geordi & Ro had their run in with the phased cloak, La Forge may have felt insulted that Reg didn't remember, and thus, didn't want to talk about it with his subordinate.

Did Geordi lie to Barclay?

Yeah, I'm sure Geordi told Barclay "You'll be ok" once or twice.

And surely they'd have been unable to hear or see anything? Given that light and sound would pass straight through them?

I thought Barclay was asking "Did anything ever happen to you IN the transporter beam." As in, while he was dematerialized, not anything bad that happened over the course of transport.

Yeah, if they can breathe, then they should have been able to just blow air on people's faces.

IIRC, there's a Stargate SG-1 episode where someone is similarly out-of-phase and they actually ask, "why doesn't he fall through the floor?" (of course we get no answer)

That's from the episode Wormhole Xtreme, where a character is producing a TV show based on SG1 and the writers used it as an excuse to make fun of themselves.

There was an episode where Daniel was 'out of phase' but really he was just stuck halfway through the process of transfer to another plane.
