I think the commentary would have been more lively if Frakes was with Moore and Braga in the recording room. The LOTR DVDs had great commentaries because the director and writers did the commentary together.Ronald D. Moore and Brannon Braga sound a lot more sprited, intelligent, and insightful on their commentary.
For LOTR that makes sense, since the director worked with the writers.
