Did anyone else wish the movie was "longer"?

USS Dragon

Lieutenant Junior Grade
Red Shirt
I enjoyed the length of the movie, but could not help be a little saddened at the ending as I wished it would never end ;)
I kinda found myself wishing I could of seen more of young Spock and young Kirk.

Obviously the more Trek the happier we are but we should be thankful the movie was this long already. Something rather rare for theater shows these days.

No, too many films these days are in need of a good edit. Still, I wouldn't turn away from aLord of the Rings-style ultra extended version (which I know doesn't really exist, but whatever).

Nope. It's a very tight movie that flows all the time. I have some editing experience and let me tell you that is HARD to accomplish. Lengthening it too much might rob it of that flow.

I was waaaay ready for the next adventure. JJ, please do not make us wait two years! :(

and yes it was well edited.

As I think about it this movie was well crafted. While as a fan I sure would like more but I think the movie was perfect the way it is.

Like anything you love you wish there was more of it to love. I would have sat through a six hour movie. (NO TMP jokes please :rommie:)

The length is fine, but it could be harder and thicker.

We all know that girth is much more important then length....when it comes to movies.

They at least could of extended the film just by 5 minutes....so they didn't have to rush at the end to give Kirk his captancy...

I'm telling you this movie is like chinese food...you're full for awhile but soon you need another plate. I mean that in both a good and bad way.

The length is fine for theatrical, but a directors-cut with the lost scenes would have been nice (too bad they already decided to include them only as extras)

I read Jack Nicklaus's autobiography, and in it he says that the best way to maintain your enjoyment of something is to have just a little bit less of it than you'd ideally like. Sometimes less is more.

Yes, I wanted more.. and a longer movie.

More scenes with McCoy, Spock and Kirk would have been good. More of Kirk as 'actual' captain... their first adventure as the crew we remember.. but that's what sequels are for.

I am looking forward to the next one!
