Diamond Select Art Asylum ships

They were charging $87.40 for the Excelsior, Bird of Prey and Enterprise B for so long now, the stairway to the second floor was starting to get blocked by over a dozen of each lately.

They finally got it through their skulls no one was buying them the last three years and why the comic section (upstairs) wasn't doing so well.

So they had a sale on, I was just lucky to turn up for the last few of them going, snapped up the last Ent B.

I wonder if we were in the same shop. I was in Forbidden Planet Belfast today and I saw a bunch of Excelsiors and two BOP on sale on the stairs. Excelsior was £19.99 and BOP was £24.99. Needless to say I grabbed both.

No sign of an Enterprise-B but the sign saying they were on offer described them as the Enterprise-B so I guess they sold out of that one.

Very happy to get the ones I did.

That's the one I go to and like I said, grabbed the last Enterprise B they had. Loads of Excelsiors left though.

I really wish the company did some non Starfleet vessels. I still really much want a Klingon D7 battle cruiser or K'tinga class ship

Friday, I received the two Excelsiors (NX and NCC), and the 1701-A. It was good to see there are actually physical differences between the two Excelsiors, and not simply a registry change. Also the NX has Captain Styles' voice, whereas the NCC has Sulu's voice. The 1701-A actually seems better constructed than the TWOK refit.

They have the TSFS/TVH Klingon BOP and that is about it.

But I agree, I'd like to see those, along with the Romulan BOP and Warbird.

That explains the Enterprise-B notice. I'd have loved to get that version but the Excelsior is nifty enough.

Surprisingly I think I prefer the BoP. I bought it as a "I'm getting the Excelsior so I may as well get it as an extra" sort of thing. But the size and weight of it are impressive and I do like the ability to have the different display options.

Yesterday, I received the NX-01 Enterprise, and here is a group picture of what I have received in the past week:

(Top to Bottom: NX-01 Enterprise, 1701-A Enterprise, NX-2000 Excelsior, and NCC-2000 Excelsior).

You might want to go to Starships Anonymous...

"Hi, I'm TheSubCommander and I have a problem." :p

LOL! Aside from a DVD collection, this is my only Star Trek vice I am guilty of. I think I have pretty much all the Diamond Select starships I want

I just wish DS would release an Enterprise-C, to complete my Enterprise collection, and I wouldn't mind them releasing the Reliant, Voyager, and the DS9 Defiant, and a nebula class, either.

I have the 1701-A (original 2003 production run like what was stated earlier) and the 1701-E (never been too happy with the paint scheme, though). One of these days I'll get around to ordering the Excelsior and the 1701-D.

One thing I wish they would do is take special orders for classes they already sell but with different names and registries. I've wanted a model of the Challenger ever since her first appearance on Voyager, and having a model of the Hood would be pretty cool too. With all the Star Trek online roleplaying games out there, I'd imagine there would be a significant demand for custom names and registries.

Now that I have the Excelsior I decided I really need the Enterprise B to be friends with it. Ordered one the other night.

Did they ever make a Reliant? I really want one of those.

No, they haven't done Reliant yet.

I have:
Enterprise NX-01
Enterprise NCC-1701 original issue
Enterprise NCC-1701 refit Wrath of Khan
Enterprise NCC-1701-A original 2003 issue
Enterprise NCC-1701-A reissue
Enterprise NCC-1701-B
Enterprise NCC-1701-D
Enterprise NCC-1701-E first contact version I think
Enterprise NCC-1701-E nemesis
Excelsior NCC-2000
Bird of prey- Undiscovered Country version
Defiant NCC-1764 SDCC 2015 exclusive

I don't have one of the A's and one of the E's on display. But did put together a model of the Ent-C so I'd have a full set. Between those and the ever growing collection of Eaglemoss models my bookshelf is running out of room.

Agreed, especially for the TOS-era Constitution classes would be very easy to do. They've done it for the Defiant, though it is a limited release (wish it was a regular release!). Probably the best way would be for them to leave the registry and ship name off, and include stickers with the various registries and names, like the old AMT TOS Enterprise model kits did.

We also did a TUC Klingon BoP, and we're actually working on a TOS Romulan BoP as our next non-Federation release sometime in 2016.

New editions of the HD TOS Enterprise and NX-01 are also on the way. Both have some paint, light and sound changes.

Hi all

Random unrelated question to topic question, so apologies in advance:

Can anyone recommend an enamel paint that would be a good match for the Art Asylum Enterprise 1701-A (the first release, before Diamond Select joined the party)?

Background: In an attempt to touch up my 1701-A, specifically filling some obvious gaps between the seams of the panelling ontop the saucer section, with superglue, then painting with enamel paint, I have mismatched the light gray colour I was using, to such an extent that I now have parts of the saucer that are discoloured!

In turn, using a paint thinner to remove excess amounts of mismatched paint, has now resulted in a more prominent aztecing pattern coming through - so all in all, I have a saucer than is no longer it's uniform colour.

I'm now in a postion where I would like to repaint the entire ship from scratch - and have been looking for a paint colour as close to the light gray plastic of the ship (as the original AA 1701-A hull was left unpainted, and not technically painted).

So there's my rather lame conundrum (a problem created by my own silly actions!).

Any recommmendations?

Thanks in advance!

^^^ sure did!

Every single one of my DST / AA ships I've removed.

The ones I have are:

AA:
1701 enterprise (refit) BD
1701-A enterprise
NX-01 Enterprise

AA/DST:
1701 enterprise (TOS)
1701 enterprise (TOS - The Cage)
1701 enterprise (refit)
1701-B enterprise
1701-D enterprise
1701-E enterprise (first release)

All of them are free to roam the deepest reaches of the galaxy, seeking out new life, and boldly going...
