Dexter season 5 trailer

Could it be? Have I actually beaten both Temis and Joe Washington to a thread about something Dexter-related? Colour me shocked!

Anyway, here's the recently released trailer for season five, some general spoilers for the direction of the season:

Looks pretty interesting. Quinn vs. Dexter has been on a simmer for a while now, so I'm not surprised to see that finally beginning to blow up. Not a lot of Deb in the trailer, somewhat surprisingly, but I wonder if that's a sign that Dex is going to tell her at some point, and they want to keep it under wraps. Season four will be a tough act to follow, but the shake-up should keep things pretty interesting.

So many interesting directions the series can take right now. This trailer looks promising. I was a bit worried that Quinn-chasing-Dex would be too similar to Doakes-chasing-Dex, but I think the two characters are different enough in their personalities and their methods that it could be a great dynamic for the new season. Doakes was more of a one-man vigilante, whereas Quinn is presenting some solid arguments to LaGuerta and the others, and appealing to them all to do their jobs.

Very interested to see how badly "Kyle Butler" comes back to bite Dex in the ass.

My only hope for the new season is that they don't waste any more time on filler subplots that no one cares about....

This looks great. Instead of discarding season four, they're following up on a lot of dangling threads. Season three and four, for the most part, missed the opportunity to follow up on the seasons that preceded them. I'm glad they're not making that mistake again.

Saw this at the panel on Thursday. Michael C Hall looks great post chemo. Fuck Cancer! Can't wait for the new season!

So, like Season 2, Dexter is going to be the Big Bad in Season 5. Interesting to see how it plays out!

Quinn is a good foil for Dexter, and a delightful replacement for Doakes (who got off a lot better in Season 2 than his parallel character did in Book 2). I really don't want to see Quinn go the way of either Doakes, though. It's good to keep him around to beat up on Dexter (and to be a punching bag for Dex too).

The best show on TV looks to have gotten even better
Got to admit I don't see a way out of this for Dexter, he can't kill Quinn it would arouse too much doubt. I get the feeling his secret is going to be well not a secret for much longer even if they do a 6th season.

Suspicious coworker, been there, done that, doesn't look any more promising with the duller character Quinn. No domestic comedy without Rita. James Remar as some uneasy cross between a real ghost and a cliche projection of Dexter's conscience. Overall, I'd say there's been enough preposterous successes in finding and killing serial killers and weaseling out of getting caught. It's past time for Dexter to really get that Harry was crazy as a loon. Deb finding out some home truths about Harry, that would be exciting. Mom Dexter getting a personality would be even more exciting. That's a huge gap in the series.

Yeah I really hope they don't off Quinn as well. I was really bummed when they killed Doakes, he was one of my favorites in the series.
