Details of 9 Minute Preview Revealed *SPOILERS*

I've read several reports of this and healing powers aren't mentioned. Cumberbatch's character says he can cure the daughter but that doesn't have to mean healing powers. It could mean that or he has medicine of some kind that can do it.

Mentioned, no...but it sure sounds like they're hinted at. Who else in TOS lore has the knowledge to pass on healing abilities or has healing abilities of his own? And who is also a member of Starfleet?

Lt Ilia or any other Deltan I presume.

This sounds interesting. I like that the Cumberbaddie's identity isn't revealed. I'm starting to suspect TPTB want him unnamed all the way until May 17, and the end of the movie.

Although the film starts out with a light tone (for which I am grateful), I can't quite see it staying that way with a name like Into Darkness.
We also get enough humor (particularly from Simon Pegg) that manages to make light of exactly the kind of fan over-analysis that the film is sure to generate (i.e. Can the Enterprise even operate underwater?)
I look forward to the raving rebuttals of ultra-serious Treknical fans.:)

I loved this quote:

Hmmm, what does that remind me of? :)

BTW in case anyone missed over it, there is supposed to be more media events today that J.J. is hosting. Be on the lookout.

I wasn't going to read any reports but in the end I couldn't resist.
It seems I was wrong about the big trailer and the 9 minutes revealing who Cumber is playing. I don't mind, let the speculation continue.

As for the rest, it sounds fun and I cant wait to see it on screen next year.

What is annoying me at the moment is that the Enterprise is apparently under the ocean to hide from a pre-warp civilization.

Why not... y'know... hide in space?

I mean, hide behind a moon? Geosynchronous orbit above a sparsely populated pole? Or in orbit but just outside of visual or telescopic range? But no. Hide in the ocean of the planet your covertly visiting. Its stupid.... but cool? Doesn't sit well with me thats for sure :P

Oh well :/
