Destiny trilogy - speculations

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

Kopernikus, please do not hotlink images. For more about hotlinking, please see this thread.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

Not to mention, it is a darn good read and should get all the exposure it can.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

Well, actually, everyone should buy and read Articles of the Federation. Then sales would skyrocket and we'd get that sequel!

And the inevitable animated feature:

Schoolhouse Rock - Federation Edition. :D

"I'm just a Trill...yes I'm only a Trill..."

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

I for one am really looking forward to this latest outing from Mr Mack and I am entering the whole experience with a closed mind as from reading his previous works, he can do no wrong and I will not allow god bothering nay sayers diswade me from the path of destiny!

Hear, hear!!

Another vote for the creator of Vance Hawkins, Intergalactic Man of Mystery.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

^ Uhm, I'm the creator of Vance Hawkins. I named him after one of my best friends. He first appeared in Fatal Error, and was a longtime recurring security guard prior to Small World.

Yes, KRAD, that I'm aware of, but Mack made him a superspy, able to mindfuck an alien interrogator in a single leap, to create one of the most memorable scenes in the CoE series.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

So you're saying that Keith created him, but I perfected him?

I can live with that. ;)

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

^^^^As I havn't read any of the CoE ebooks in either ebook or dead tree omnibus format, I'm a bit lost to the reference, but I am assuming it is a good thing? (And I'm not assuming that not having read the CoE books is a good thing )

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

I've only got Have Tech, Will Travel and Creative Couplings. Might try and get the rest to fill out the rest of the CoE collection.

It's one of the best references in TrekLit. David, would you mind posting it? It is just a brilliant piece of literature.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

I have just read the excerpt of the first Destiny book you can find at Pocket Book`s website.

This is very promising! :)

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

I'm getting serious Garner-vibes (you know...the Pegasus-commander from nuBSG's The Captains Hand) from Bowers. I wonder if thats intentional. If it is, then this doesn't bode well for his future career. ;)

I really like this Excerpt. It manages to give just enough new Information without spoiling anything.

Just confused about the Jadzia bit. When did she find that ship? Did I miss something?

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

That was enjoyable, still thoroughly looking forward to this.

Well the Ships of the Line image that inspired the Columbia crashed on a desert world thing featured Starfleet people in the older uniforms, so that was a rather neat explanation that keeps a consistent continuity between that image and the books, nice.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

I just read the excerpt, and that has pretty much alleviated any worries I had about the books.
It seems like perhaps the Aventine has woken up something they really shouldn't have.

That event is depicted in the book's prologue, which takes place several years before the main part of the narrative.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

Holy sweet mother of pearl. That was frelling awsome, the 21 quid I'll need to spend on Destiny has just been justified by those three thousand or so words, Mr Mack, may men hug you in the street and women throw their knickers at you for, as Davros said to the Doctor, you are the destroyer of worlds!

All I need to do is read Greater than the Sum to set these Quadrant shattering events to be set up.

No offense to any of the other talented writers, but that brief portion has me more interested than most of the novels I've read recently. I can't wait until it's released.
