Destiny trilogy - speculations

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

And here's the Lost Souls blurb from Mack:

The soldiers of Armageddon are on the march, laying waste to worlds in their passage. An audacious plan could stop them forever, but it carries risks that one starship captain is unwilling to take. For Captain Jean-Luc Picard, defending the future has never been so important, or so personal — and the wrong choice will cost him everything for which he has struggled and suffered.

For Captain William Riker, that choice has already been made. Haunted by the memories of those he was forced to leave behind, he must jeopardize all that he has left in a desperate bid to save the Federation.

For Captain Ezri Dax, whose impetuous youth is balanced by the wisdom of many lifetimes, the choice is a simple one: there is no going back — only forward to whatever future awaits them.

But for those who, millennia ago, had no choice … this is the hour of their final, inescapable destiny.

Ho. Ly. Shit.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

Ok I'm looking forward to these books even more now than I thought I could be interested in anything. I want these more than I want Star Trek XI!

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

Wow, wow wow. I swear each one of these sounds better than the last. I'm gonna go add this to Memory Beta, then all three of these descriptions will be up there, instead of the ones from the catalogue.

I just realized I think this is like the third or fourth time these things have been changed on there.

EDIT: Gah, you beat me to it Dark Horizon!

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

The Borg had no choice in whatever happened to them, millennia ago????

Looks like Mack might have done it again, three times over.

This is the Lord of the Rings of Star Trek ladies and gentlemen.

*Evilly laughs because he's changed Memory Beta entries based on what he's read here*

Hey Dave, there has been a lot of bashing you here and I am sorry that you have had to endure that. I have not always loved all of your creative choices, but you also introduced me to Junior Mance through Riker and that is worth me always giving you the benefit of the doubt. The Trilogy sounds magnificent! :bolian:

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

^ Gracias. Whatever else individual readers might think of the trilogy, I hope that, at the very least, they will find it to be an entertaining tale on its own merits. Obviously, it can't be all things to all people, but I'm hoping that the risks my editors and I decided to take will be judged as having merit.

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

^ Well, you didn't do what I wanted you to do, so it's going to suck. Yes, because I said so.

Oh, but Jesus loves you, anyway. Heathen.

While I haven't read everything you've written (haven't gotten around to SCE or through the DS9 relaunch yet, working on it) Twilight's Wrath, Harbinger, Reap the Whirlwind, and Wolverine: Road of Bones, give me more than enough faith to trust these will be good. And while the blurb from the first two books raised my interest for the books further than before, that blurb for the third book has me more excited for this trilogy more than any other series of books I've been into. Can't wait.

Where does it say it's the Borg?
Note the question marks, Christopher. I was hoping to start something in that vein.

I've got to learn to stop asking rhetorical questions around here. I wasn't seeking information, I was pointing out that you can't assume the reference is to the Borg.

Who was bashing David Mack?

Re: Destiny trilogy - pretty heavy spoilers

The borderline trolling can stop now. I'm not in the mood for it.
