Destiny or Shatner books?

Destiny.

Shatner jerks off to Kirk so much in his books that my wrists hurt when I read them.

Well this is my problem with this option, Dayton. When I go on long vacations, I'm afraid to take new reading material, because I might end up not liking it. Then I'm stuck with a book i won't finish.

That's not a problem, that's an opportunity. Just take a frackload of books so if you don't like one you can move on to another. But for crying out loud, when given a big chunk of free time, don't waste it reading books you've already read!

I would say that Destiny is the better read, but the Shatnerverse is well done in it's attention to trivial trek knowledge, and just enjoyable for it's Kirk-centric theme.

C'mon--Kirk defeating a Klingon with a bat'leth? Right

I enjoyed the first two Shatner trilogies- they were my first forays into Trek fiction, and while in retrospect they are excessive, they were very gripping and a lot of fun when I originally read them. I still haven't read the third trilogy yet.
