Destiny Omnibus: should I pull the trigger?

This is the first Trek book I've read in about a decade and I can't put it down. Damn you, David Mack... *shaking my fist at the sky*
Another satisfied customer. :)

Nice to have a Scouse character too! Just wished he'd been the first ever Borg... That would have been something for me to shout about!
Ah, well.

The death scenes in the second book were written so well. My father died of cancer whilst I was reading this and I was crying reading those. They were so accurately and emotionally written. Well done Mr Mack.
Gracias.

Also, whilst you are on the board, may I ask why you decided to hint at the start of a relationship for LaForge in book II and leave it unresolved? Was that purposeful (a hint to his string of previous failures)?
That decision was made at the editorial level; I had originally written a scene in which the two of them get together, but it was cut during editing.

Aye, I've been getting that recommendation a lot and I burn to read that one, but I'm not caught up far enough on the TNG continuity yet :).

^It's pretty much a stand alone novel in this case. You'd only have to be caught up to Destiny or so. It was awesome. I'm a big Geordi fan, and in this one he really got to shine :)

I've always been interested in the engineering characters in Trek, so I agree Geordi is underused ... and I really liked the LaForge/Brahms storyline in TNG.

I haven't read it yet, but I do know Scotty, Nog and Gomez ( don't know how big her role is, but she is listed in the cast list on MB)are all in Indistinguishable From Magic, so it'll definitely get you your engineer fix.

Agreed. Indistinguishable from Magic not only did all of that stuff, but even did a great job making Sela a plausible character.
