Re: Star Trek: Destiny: Mere Mortals - SPOILER Thread

Sorry, but we wouldn't be allowed to do that because of the boards no story ideas rule.

Well that sucks.

Either you're completely missing the points I'm trying to make or I'm incapable of expressing myself clearly. Either way, I'm done.

You've GOT to be kidding me. I'm disagreeing with your position on a message board and because you can't convert me, you get upset and run away. What a joke.:guffaw: Good riddance.

And you will, next year, in the Star Trek Magazine. A piece that will be far more than acceptable, I sincerely hope and expect (and won't pay exorbitant sums of money for unless it is!!)

The writer, whose identity I'll keep quiet for now, is briefed to cover all Borg appearances - including their alternate origins in comics and the Shatnerverse - so I'll be very interested in everyone's (but particularly Luminus') opinion

Paul

Fantastic!

Re: Star Trek: Destiny: Mere Mortals - SPOILER Thread

I'm curious and so now I pose a question to the naysayers. You are the writer. Now summarize an acceptable Borg history for Star Trek, starting with "The Neutral Zone" and ending with Voyager. This... I've got to see.

What about the Destiny origin, will that be included? Or is it to new at this point?

Well, isn't that special.

I'm not the one who said that, Paul Simspon, the editor of the Star Trek magazine is. And that would be how he got that information, he's the guy in charge of the magazine.

I was asking how did you find out. I did a search and couldn't find a reference.

Re: Star Trek: Destiny: Mere Mortals - SPOILER Thread

As JD said, Paul Simpson is the editor of the magazine.

Woops! Guess I missed that one. I'm a little distracted by my daughter, right now. Sorry.

No worries - daughters do that!!

You wouldn't have found out the info anywhere else on the net, as I made the announcement in this thread. It's something that I've had in mind, and discussed with the author in question a few weeks ago, as I want something big and punchy for the post-Movie issues. It will cover Destiny - it was reading that (and A Singular Destiny, which seriously rocks!) which prompted the commission.

You got to read A Singular Destiny already? I hate you.

Just kidding, of course. Although I am very jealous.

Ditto here, but I guess being the editor of a Trek Magazine gets its perks and reading the books well before publication is one of them.

I think I am in the wrong line of work. I need to figure out how to get that job.

Re: Star Trek: Destiny: Mere Mortals - SPOILER Thread

Dear Mr. Mack and other Star Trek authors, developers, and collaborators who worked on Destiny.

Thank your for all the sleepless nights that I've had because I haven't been able to put down this series.

I will have my attorney's contact you if I have any complications that arise from any prescribed sleeping pharmaceuticals that I may have to take in order to return to a normal sleep cycle.

Well done!

Cheers,
Fireflywyo300

P.S. And now on to Vanguard.

Re: Star Trek: Destiny: Mere Mortals - SPOILER Thread

Ooo, you're starting Vanguard. I love those books, Vanguard is actually in my top four Trek series in all mediums, along with TNG, DS9/DS9R, and Titan.

Re: Star Trek: Destiny: Mere Mortals - SPOILER Thread

I just finisehed MM, last night and I loved it. So far this trilogy has actually been one of the rare things to actually meet the hype surrounding it. Well done, David. On to Lost Souls. I'm gonna say all of my specific comments for after I finish Lost Souls.
