Destiny - Let's Roll!

Tis a gif hearkening back to the olden days of Destiny, when the game was much stingier, and more deceptive about the rewards you'd reap in game.

In this case, the player had a Legendary Engram, and he ended up with something he felt was useless. So, in despair, the player jumped off the edge of the hub world (The Tower)...only to come back for more punishment.

Finally, after investing many hours in Destiny, I got a piece of Exotic armor to complement my Legenday chest armor. Now, If I can just get an Exotic or Legendary weapon!

I already have an exotic machine gun, which I then very quickly got a legendary of afterwards. Yesterday I picked up another exotic weapon bounty for the shotgun, and then got a legendary for that slot too.

So I'm going to have two exotics and two legendaries, but still be stuck rocking a blue primary weapon. Argh!

I'm up to two Exotic primaries, Two Legendary Primaries, an Exotic Secondary Sniper Rifle (but I really am working toward my bounty on the Pocket Infinity Fusion Rifle), Two Exotic Helmets, and all Legendary armor.

Gimmmmeeeeee myyyyyyy Pocketttt InnnnnffffiiiiiinnniiiiitttyyyyyyyY!!!!!!!

Thing is, I seem to be in the hardest part of the bounty stage to get my P.I..... and that is, I have to dismantle 10 Rare (or better) Fusion Rifles to get the energy cores I need. I've only been able to dismantle 3. Grrrrr!

So, The Dark Below expansion details.

• 3 story missions
• 2 strikes (actually, only 1 strike if your XBONE'd)
• 1 raid
• 3 MP maps

Pretty bad. Even worse for oldschool Bungie fans who traditionally play on Xbox. I'm looking forward to it and I will play it, but it's still not enough. In and of itself, it would be fine, but with the main game as thin on content as it is, this will simply not suffice.

Hey, DB, by any chance, have you posted that one comic of yours....the one about the how the lead designer created the "loot and reward" system for Destiny over at the Bungie forums.....because Bungie really needs to see that one!

Edit.... doing the Pocket Infinity Bounty. Finally managed to get the 10 Fusion Rifle cores I needed to make the shell and weapon, but now I have to kill 200 enemies with my fusion rifle in a weekly nightfall strike.

This could take a while.

Then I wonder what's next?

That pretty much sunk the game for me.. i haven't touched it in quite a while and was not really tempted to get the DLC but this weak sauce means i'll better wait for a huge, Diablo 3 level overhaul (and the game needs it) or wait for Destiny 2 and not be a first day buyer anymore until normal gamers get their hands on and give unbiased opinions.

I have really lucked into some more cool gear. Just over the last couple of nights, I managed to earn (or rather, randomly receive) another Legendary cloak. And two more Legendary weapons. So now I actually have Legendary and Exotic gear in the vault for when I create another character.

So last night I completed the Nightfall strike by myself, and all I got was a legendary shotgun.

The last two times I did it I got exotics or 9! Ascendant Shards. So doing it solo and getting just the Purple Shotgun felt like a bit of a kick in the teeth tbh.

I saw the so-called "Honest Trailer". Marginally amusing. I think the announcer simply repeated the rants of other gamers. I don't think he actually played the game.

Correction...

" a lousy, Legendary shotgun.".

I hang onto all my Legendaries and Exotics so I can mix'n'match loadouts for different mission types, and for the Crucible. . Even though I have several Exotics, only one or two that I may have purchased, the rest being randomly received, I am almost always thrilled to add another Legendary to my arsenal.
