I'd much rather hear an on stage interview by the host ...
Only if the interviewer asks good questions though. And not those any journalist would ask and the guest has been asked thousands times in interviews before and says "I'm sure the fans already know that".

Garrett Wang was a good host for that reason - he knew his audience would only consist of Trek fans so he didn't need to explain anything.

The worst panel I once attended was with six or seven people on stage at the same time. Sometimes it can be fun having two who feed off each other but this was way too much. A question would be asked and every single one would answer and it took like 15 minutes to get to the next question. And the answers basically were like "Me too".

Wait a minute.

You actually went to this event??

According to his reply to my queery on that he went for a couple of the guests... the same guests that were part of a line up he's repeatedly decried as sub par throughout this thread (though as we've seen from a few posts up, Mr Bear thinks Christopher Lloyd shouldn't have been there, so what constitutes a significant guest for him may differ from that of many folk).

Fair enough if you go to a con for specific reasons despite reservations, but this thread has basically been made unreadable by him hijacking it for his hatred of the organisers and repeatedly telling people what an awful crooked event it would be/was and that they shouldn't go. But he went anyway! And did his little bit to help ensure that the folk organising this that he despises get the chance to do more (because it's nothing to do with brown envelopes really, these things will be a goer as long as people turn up and pay up).

It absolutely was not a perfect event by any means. But it certainly wasn't as bad as Bear tried to make us think beforehand. Because there was no way it could be really.

After literally months of badmouthing everything about this event, and spewing hatred for those in charge, he actually went???

That is so fucking unbelievable...there are no words to describe that level of hypocrisy....

Howdy folks,

@1001001 and I have discussed, and both feel that now that the convention is over, the best thing for the forum is to bring this thread to a close.

Thanks for your understanding.
