Spoilers Designated Survivor

I am confused on the time frame here.

The funeral for son seemed to happen real fast. Usually it takes a at least week for funerals (especially if they need an autopsy/investigation)

It was nice to see that Seth actually has a staff he is in charge of. He seems to be a good leader, though struggling with the messy morality of his position (like hearing his underling excited about doing spin).

Oh, and Seth really needs to stop walking to and from home!!! He's lucky the people who jumped him this time were his friends. And good job standing up for the president.


It's too bad they killed the VP so soon..in a sense, he was also a "designated survivor"

Oh, and I know the Flashback thing is played out....but this show could actually use it...at least on occasion.

But previews sound very dramatic. How soon until the season finale?
 
I'm glad they didn't string some of this on too long. Yes, we still have the mystery and the threat, but the VP plot line is done and the keeping the Secret Service Agent Hanna Wells out of the loop is over. Everyone is on board and we're moving forward.

Yeah, move the kids to Camp David. That's much more a normal lifestyle... well, sorta.

I do hope the son's drug issues come back into play.
 
Hanna is FBI, not Secret Service.
I don't know if they ever said the son was on drugs, but he was selling.
 
Remember they also had new showrunners, fired people, and I think even hired new people for a new season of Castle before they went 'fuck it'.

However ABC drama's are such shit they need to keep it as it's at least decent in the ratings. However what the hell is wrong with them? This show should write itself and they have a new show-runner every 5 episodes.

Does anyone else remember the ABC show Commander in Chief from about 10 years ago? Donald Sutherland and Geena Davis were in it, should have been amazing, but they to did stupid things with the president's children and changed show runner every other day. It got canceled after one season after 3 show-runners, no focus, and a massive hit in a pilot that crashed and burned.

ABC doesn't have any luck with president shows. Maybe they should hired a druggie to write the first 88 episodes. :)
 
Jeez, another show runner change? How is this show getting renewed? Are the ratings actually that good?

Or maybe they should hire someone who has creative talent and then trust them.

West Wing was written by Sorkin when he was high. They can get him, but I question if he can write TV if he's not stoned.
 
The News Room is awesome, and Studio 60 is a guilty pleasure I should bite into again someday soon, my gods Sports Night is perfect.

Is there a checklist to define what bulks of his work were created within cocaine zones?
 
He wrote all of the first season of Sports Night stoned. Pretty much anything written before West Wing season 5 just assume he was stoned. He cleaned up his act after he left West Wing when season 4 finished.

Studio 60 is one of the worst shows I have ever watched, he isn't funny, and they made it seem like the fake show was the finniest thing ever, it was sad and pathetic and made SNL look like comedy gold.

I'm not sure Sutherland's acting style would be able to keep up with Sorkin's pithy/staccato writing style...

Actually he went to rehab in 2002 between seasons 2 and 3 and has been sober since.
 
No one in the show seems too bothered there is no VP at the moment, especially after the President nearly died a few weeks back.

That dickhead Bowman, if I recall reintroduced the bill into the Senate in last weeks episode but didn't vote for it, doesn't that make him look like a complete fool?

Yeah, that seemed odd to me too. At the very least I would think the public would see him as a hypocrite.
 
He only said he would introduce it in the spirit of bi-partisanship.. He also, in practically the same breath, said he opposed it, but wanted it to be up to the congress to decide. He said that (incorrectly) assuming that it would be DOA and the President would look the fool. The Bowman would be able to say "hey.. We gave it a shot."
 
Wow that blatant Ford remote start app product placement in tonight's episode.

If there was other product placement in previous episodes I didn't notice.

It was horrendous product placement. FOX have a habit of this, I remember some awful Toyota product placement in Bones about driver assist.

Hookstraten may see the VP role as a lifeboat now but why did she want it in the first place? The role of "Speaker of the House" has more power and influence than VP. Also does Kirkman really want to lose a powerful ally being replaced by a Bowman esq character who could block his agenda.

I would guess that with a non aligned President, as with one term limited out of office, then she will have the inside position for her party's nomination for the next Presidential election. Sure a governor can emerge to take it but VP gives her a step up that the Speaker, as a result of her duties in that position traditionally has not had.
