Deserved an episode

Are you warning us of the "be careful what you wish for" perils of making a minor character major?

No, just having some fun. I wouldn't give such a 'warning' because I think it cannot be easily foreseen how such a step will work out. Sometimes it will work well (as it did in the case of O'Brien), other times it will not. Shows have an evolving dynamic and we also see supposedly 'major' characters turn fairly minor in practice. (In fact, I considered cynically proposing Chakotay and Kim for that very reason.)

Which minor character would I choose? Of the suggestions I read, I like the Guinan one the best. A Guinan-centered ep would be intruiging, to say the least. Then again, it could take away from the mystery that surrounds the character.

You know who else I would have liked to have seen more of, or even just one more time. The guy that worked in Ten Forward in Lower Decks. Ben was his name. He seemed like such a friendly guy that everyone liked and trusted.
Wasn't Ben just a substitute for Guinan because Whoopi Goldberg was unavailable? Mind you the episode works better without her anyway, if we assume she's the head of the Ten Forward staff, its "manager" if you will, it only makes sense the episode focusing on the lower ranks would feature a common Ten Forward employee instead.

Yes, I'm sure all that's the case. But for a one time appearance, he made a very positive impression on me.

I want to see more of Patterson Supra. I want to see if he ever got promoted to Lieutenant In Charge of Radishes. ;)
I liked the girl who was with Picard, Patterson and the other boy in that episode. I'd have liked to see an episode where she's starting her Starfleet career. Several years down the road of course. I really liked at the end there where Picard says Number One and she and Riker both respond. :)

The TNG extra with the "punk" short hair, forget her name on the show, but we actually see a lot of her through-out the seven seasons.

She is seen all over the ship so apparently she's intelligent and well cross trained, the helm, the science consoles in the back of the bridge, down in engineering.

Another TNG extra we saw a few times. Sariel Rager. I would have liked to have seen some more about her. Wasn't she the one that Riker had to rescue from the aliens that were kidnapping and experimenting on the crew.

Ensign Jenkins who is at the helm in Voyager I believe when Kim has the night shift.

Chell the Bolian-always wished to see him fleshed out more

Gegen the Voth scientist-should've joined the Voyager crew. Would have been interesting. Oh well he did get an episode deserved more though.

The equinox five on Voyager-see what their up to in Season 7.

Come to think of it there are probably more Voyager characters who deserved a fleshing out.

I thought he should have went with them as well. With his daughter and his young assistant as well.

Ensign (later Lieutenant) Jae, who began appearing on TNG in its fourth season and stayed up to Insurrection.
Thanks for that! I had always loved the fact they kept undeveloped background characters as 'regulars' throughout so many changes and eras. I really liked her. She seemed to always mean business when it came to her duties.

I would have liked to see an episode centered around Tom Riker attempting to adjust to his new assignment, and what led to him becoming disillusioned with Starfleet. Maybe a series of bad incidents, younger yet more senior officers ordering him around, him being a awkward around people due to years of isolation, and then top it off with a new Captain taking command of the ship he is serving on turning out to be Jellico, who takes an instant dislike to poor Tom Riker, and rides him. The episode ends with Tom Riker resigning his commission, and later sitting in a bar, where he is approached and recruited by an unseen Maquis, implied to be Eddington.

In the Voyager episode, Dark Frontier, where Seven of Nine sees her father for the first time since they'd been assimilated, as a drone, of course, I thought it would have made a good next episode, if they'd rescued him and severed his link to the collective. The episode could have played out in several ways. He could have not adapted well health-wise from the separation and ended up dying at the end, but not before having time with Seven and helping her deal with some of her issues. Or he could have adapted about as well as Seven did, but they don't end up reestablishing their bond, because Seven won't forgive him and he ends up leaving the ship to restart his life on his own. Or he doesn't adapt well, and ends up stealing a shuttle at the end to return to the Borg. I'm sure there are other plot possibilities as well.

In any instance, a good idea for a fan fiction story.
