Desert bus! Are you on board?

Hey everyone.

Desert Bus for Hope is up and running again. They raised $70k last year for Child's Play so if you like videogames and charity you should tune in sometime (and maybe even donate!).

I've really become a fan of LRR this year, and this challenge is great fun. The webstream (Driver Cam) is very funny at most times.

Tune in, give a little money!

Hah, I've never actually watched someone play it.

I take it you can't even pause the game?

Yup. No pause. Just drive 8 hours, get a point, drive another eight hours, and so on. They do it in shifts - they're up to 5 points and $40k raised so far.

I guess you have to be very careful with the hand off I guess.

I must admit, as a joke game it was a fun idea. I kind of wish that they actually released the full game, because they were supposed to do some kind of real life contest for Desert Bus.
As a fundraising idea, it's pretty awesome though... although boring as hell to watch.

Well, the bus itself is. The room where they're playing is great though - lots of people coming in and out.

Yeah. I imagine this works as PR for their website as much as anything.

I don't get how the hour thing works though - if they get a certain amount of money, they'll add an hour to the total play time... but that amount scales exponentially so that they aren't stuck doing it forever?
