Den of Geek article on Deep Space Nine's costumes

^^ Great link. What did you think about the costumes?

I really liked the diverse looks they gave the races and how much variation they had on theme for each. I liked the colors and textures of the Ferengi clothing, but I thought the overall cut was very unflattering.

I feel that we Cardassians have been unjustly ignored. Garak got a mention, yes, and the three scientists had their pics in there--but SURELY a staple of the series deserves a full discussion when even the bloody KLINGONS get one... :cardie:

^Well, you gotta give the make-up people credit for them. Ever seen a picture of J.G. Hertzler and compared it to Martok?

I couldn't agree more, the Cardassian uniform alone is a perfect example of style and deadly grace. Heck even our disruptors looked good...

Not to mention the rifles--beautiful AND deadly efficient weapons. Can't say THAT for Starfleet rifles, which look like what I believe humans call a Dustbuster. And they break just from a litte mud.

I was thinking "Where is a mention of the Cardassian uniform? Or a picture?" Surely, it is one of the costuming masterpieces of Star Trek. ;)

I really enjoyed the article when I came across it this week. But I disagree on its take of the station's sets. The sets are marvellous and still look great upon viewing.

I agree with you. I thought the sets were beautiful, and I actually loved the architecture.

If there's a better television show set than the Promenade (including Quark's Bar) than I've never seen it. It was a masterpiece unlikely to ever be rivaled, given standard tv budgets.
