DVDTalk already has information up about the upcoming Deep Discount sale.

This year the sale will be for 25% off and will run from November 7th to November 23. Items included in the sale are in stock or out of stock DVDs, HD DVDs, Blu Rays and Media Storage.

Codes that typically work during the sale (one use per sale, you can use multiple codes with each account):
DVDTALK
USATODAY
NYTIMES
SUPERSALE
PRICESEARCH
SUMMERSALE
YAHOO
ESPN
LATIMES
XM
SOUTHSIDE
WGN
JIM
DEALNEWS
WLS
PRICEGRABBER
DD1109

Also, the coupon you use lets them know where you got it from and helps said site or media outlet. So I like to use ESPN first. If there's any codes using someplace you hate, don't use it. :p

I wonder if DVD Planet will match. I have a ton of credit with them.

Since this sale is longer than usual, a couple titles that come out the last week of the sale -- Tropic Thunder and Wall-E, DVD and Blu-Ray.

Looks like a good price for Bender's Game on Blu-Ray! Thanks for the heads-up! :)

They need to make it at least 40% off to make up for the mark ups.

And they have raised prices on almost everything I was looking for.

The three prices there are what they were during June's sale, what they were two weeks ago, and what they are today.

All of these are Doctor Who dvds that I don't yet have. Even with the 20 or 25% off, it's still higher now than it was two weeks ago.

I used to love Deep Discount. But the last two or three times I've ordered something, it took 5-6 weeks for the packages to arrive, and some of the orders just mysteriously vanished. I no longer buy gifts for people from there, because I'm worried it just might not show up.

The Deep Discount sale has started early if you want to use the code SAVE. DVD Planet hasn't started yet.

Live Seach Cashback gives you 4% of Deep Discount, which may or may not be negated by the coupon code. But it still doesn't hurt to try.

When DVD Planet's sale kicks in, you can always go through Ebates with them.

Some FYIs for the peeps on this board. With the 25% off sale:

DEEP DISCOUNT
Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Chosen Collection complete series ($89.92)
Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Complete Series box set ($244.46)
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine - seasons 1-7 sold together ($237.67)
Star Trek: Voyager - seasons 1-7 sold together ($242.27)
Star Trek: Enterprise - The Complete Series ($139.58)

Star Trek: TOS Three-Season Pack comes out Nov. 18, and assuming the price doesn't change, with the discount it's $132.21.

I've pretty much seen the same thing as Omaha with DDD these days. The mark-up on the prices when the sale pretty much negates the sale price for a lot of titles.

You really have to check every individual item and see how good the deal really is. You can get some pretty decent prices though.

Gee... I feel so ripped off buying The Godfather Trilogy on Blu-ray for under $50. I should've just gone to Borders or Barnes & Noble and paid $95 instead.

I was glad to see you could get Futurama: Bender's Game for $15.65. I don't know about other places, buy my local Wal-Mart is bleeding $24.95 plus tax out of people.

Man, I really want to get DS9 (been wanting to rewatch it all), but while my heart says yes, my pocketbook says no.

I tried to use DVDTALK and USATODAY this afternoon without success. ESPN worked though. Hopefully another code will work next week - I want to order Bones Season 3 and a classic film collection that doesn't come out until Tuesday.

Yeah, you really have to check the prices vs places like Amazon.com to see if it's worth it. Some of Amazon's DVD's/Blu-Ray's are cheaper than DDD even with their 25% discount.

I haven't bought from DDD for a while, so I didn't know they raised their prices. But generally I look at Amazon's 3rd party sellers, and usually find 2 or 3 that are less than DDD anyway, and try to get a group of DVDs from the same seller that way.
Right now, 3 amazon sellers have the Futurama one for less than the $15.65 mentioned above, including DDD, but there they add S&H, so it's about the same in the end.
