Dedication?

We lost two significant contributors to Star Trek this week; Alexander Courage and Joseph Pevney.

Anyone interested in seeing Abrams dedicate his Star Trek in their memory?

If the movie is dedicated to Courage, then does Roddenberry have to get a dedication credit, too?

If they dare use Roddenberry's lyrics, I'll walk out of the theatre.

Seriously, I know Courage will get a credit for the theme (assuming they use it). Acknowledging Pevney might be nice.

I don't know. It opens up a can of worms. What about all the other Trek "pioneers" and actors no longer with us? And, Roddenberry already had TUC dedicated to him.

To be delicate about it, my guess is no dedication unless something unspeakably tragic happens to a major person between now and the opening of the movie. And of course, let's hope that doesn't happen.

Well that'd be the qualifier; something would have to happen during the production of the movie. Kinda like how Superman Returns was dedicated to Dana & Chris Reeve after Dana passed away earlier that year.

I'd pay ten dollars just to sit in a theater and hear that classic fanfare in state-of-the-art sound. Chills. It'll give me the chills.

It's odd. When I first started watching TOS, I didn't care much for the classic fanfare, but over the years it's really grown on me, and now I love it. It will be so awesome to hear it in the theater! TOS really had the best scoring over all.

Personally, I'd like them to dedicate it to Doohan, Kelley, Goldsmith, Courage, and Jeffries... but I guess five names kinda devalues the whole thing.
