Looks-wise, they're indeed darn close, but Portman is about 5'3 whereas Keira is 5'7, and, being 5'9, 5'5-5'7 is my preferred height for ladies. Also, Keira is English, with the native accent to prove it, so it's Knightley for the win.

Also, Portman was mildly annoying in Thor, imho.

Natalie Portman is certainly a very pretty girl, but she has never really wowed me. Plus I find the demureness of her personality and acting kind of annoying. Keira seems like a real spitfire though.

Knightley's accent puts me over the top too. Just something about an English accent.

And of course Knightley played Sabe a handmaiden/decoy in the service Padme Amidalia, play by Portman, in Star Wars.

I was gonna post the picture of the two of them together in Phantom Menace but they look like kids.

I love them both and could never decide. :adore: :adore:

So who was the last actress you gave thumbs down to in the BOTW/GBOW threads?

Come to think of it, I've yet to see Portman in a movie I've actually liked apart from Thor, but as I said, I wasn't nuts about her in that. (Haven't yet seen Heat or Your Highness, but the former doesn't really count.)

Knightley, OTOH, has been in the excellent Pride and Prejudice, the rollicking Pirates DMC and the completely wonderful Atonement. Bonus: she had a bit part in the rather good Love Actually.

Again, the win goes to Knightley.

I prefer Natalie over Keira personally and agree that she was mildly annoying in "Thor" I also think she wasn't right for the part.

I'm beginning to think you're a soft touch when it comes to drop dead gorgeous women John.;)

Oh, dear sir, I love women. Short, tall, big, small, I love women, I love them all. :D

Let's see...

The last thumbs down...

...

Hmm...

I'm thinking, I'm thinking...

I'm not sure. I know I probably have at some point. See, I love women, but I am very turned off by personality. If someone is cold and cruel, or humorless and rude, I am likely to give a thumbs down. Personality plays such a major role in how I perceive another person's beauty.
