Deassimilation

I have an idea for a new Trek series, one that would take place in the future, after the events of Nemesis. I'd like to get some feedback on it. My idea centers around the Federation taking on the Borg full scale and undoing the damage they've done (hence the thread title). So in this (not so distant) future time the Borg have expanded almost into the Alpha quadrant and are starting to seriously threaten not only the Federation but the Romulans, Klingons, everyone. So the premise would be that the Federation and other species all start to cooperate/collaborate to develop and build technology and ships that are dedicated to deassimilating borg drones, just like was done with 7 of 9 in Voyager, except on a large scale. The only problem is it would probably take a huge number of guest appearances from different actors to play all the recovering drones...

Not necessarily. Oh, more than on many shows with one to a dozen guests per episode, but if the deassimilation is done on a grand scale, only the closeups that talk would have to be played by human actors. The rest could be done through CGI. Besides, the same human actors could be recycled over and over to play drones of different species.

I just watched the Voyager episode, Unimatrix Zero and in a way, deassimilation has already begun.

I think this idea is AWESOME. Especially if you bring in characters like Hugh, the Cooperative, and the Unimatrix Zero gang. The only thing I dislike about this idea is that I'm planning something similar, but I hardly have a copyright on these characters or the Borg. And you could probably do something great with it.

This story has already been done with Seven and to a lesser extent Picard and Hugh, so wouldn't see much need in retreading old ground. Now if you had a story when a liberated former drone couldn't cope and did all they could to return to the Collective then that would be an interesting new angle on the concept.

This has the potential to be a different type of trek. I’d watch it.
