i will say, they make a good case for Washington. i can see why it was such a close match. personally, i'm looking forward to Lawrence of Arabia vs. Theodore Roosevelt. my money is on TR!

Well people may debate who would win between Napoleon's forces and Washington's,but in a one on one fight clearly the much larger and stronger GW would beat Napoleon.

^ can't argue with that. i never knew just how big a guy Washington was. i knew that Napoleon's size had always been exaggerated though.

Yeah, Napoleon wasn't as tiny as he's often made out to be. But, Washington was a BEAST, especially for his day and age.

That said, I can't stand Deadliest Warrior. Maybe it's gotten better since I last watched it, but from what I've seen I can't understand the appeal.

The appeal is to see ancient weapons tested under scientific conditions while people trash talk each other and inflict bloody wounds on test dummies. It's a bit of educational value and a lot of prurient fun.

Anyway, I think the result was bullshit. No way Washington could win. Washington, sorry to say, just wasn't that good. As a tactical general, he was terrible (he was a great delegator and judge of personality, but that's not helpful here). They brought up his use of guerrilla tactics and the militia. With the exception of the Boston militia in the beginning, they weren't all that good. Early victories had more to do with Benedict Arnold anyway (Saratoga for example). The best use of the militia was in the South with Daniel Morgan before Washington arrived. Yorktown was directed essentially by France. Compare this to Austerlitz and there isn't remotely a contest.

I also can't see a true cavalry weapon being used against a dueling sword. That being said, I give credit to the Pennsylvania Longrifle. If anything turned the battle in his favor, it would be that.

It's basically from watching them test all the weapons sort like how people watch Mythbusters for the explosions(and Kari Byron's breasts@ass:lol:) but as for the results you have to take those with a grain of salt.

I'd like to see the Ottoman Janissaries, but I'm not sure who to pair them against. My original thought were the Conquistadors, but they have Cortes this time. I also thought Saladin, but my thought was to pair him against William the Conqueror, which isn't going to happen.

How about Saladin vs. Charlemagne?

Last season they flashed onscreen a breakdown of the computer's projected kills maybe I missed it or its in the Spike website recap? So I am guessing the rifle was more of a force multiplier then the 8 lb over the 6 lb guns? Or was it the "intangibles" programmed in by the SEAL or the new Green Beret computer geek?

They don't have an exact kill breakdown this year, just the percentage kills (so you can tell their best weapon). The combo Brown Bess and PA Rifle were the best weapon for Washington. The Calamacharde also seemed more effective than the Sabre (which I think is crap). Napoleon's best weapon was the 8 pounder.

So who do people have tonight? Joan of Arc or William the Conqueror? I'm leaning towards Joan because of the technology difference, but it's difficult to say. William was pretty badass.
