Dead Island

Well, there are several hidden trophies so... who knows. :)

Discovered an exploit yesterday that gives you pretty much unlimited money. Yeah, it's cheap but I've beaten the game already and considering all the cheap deaths and bugs, I don't mind using it just to keep my weapons repaired and too buy enough detergent and scrap metal to make ammo... seriously, I can carry around 12 fricking swords or machetes or baseball bats but not a couple extra boxes of ammo?

Not sure what it would be on an X-box or PC but on PS3...

Hold L1 (like you're aiming to throw a weapon) and hold Triangle then tap R1. Your current equipped weapon will be thrown with a duplicate dropping at your feet. Pick them up, rinse, repeat and sell.

I tried this with the xbox but it dont work.

I've looked at the game on the shop shelf but wasn't sure. From what I've read it sounds like a good game so I guess a walk to the games shop is in order tomorrow.

Just started Act III and I don't know.... I'm just loosing enthusiasm for this game. I have Resistance 3 on the shelf and Rage, Arkham City and Battlefield 3 in the next few weeks. I'm sure I'll finish it at some point but I'm going to take a break.

What is making me mad is the weapons don't last long at all and it is extremely hard finding ammo for the guns, plus when I do use the guns, the head shots don't automatically kill the zombies.

Worth it when it drops in price.

As for ammo, there isn't a lot in the game and what there is, you can't carry. You can carry a dozen hammers, katanas, baseball bats, etc but you can't carry a few extra, comparatively small, boxes of ammo. Pfft. However there are places where it's easy to pick up from fallen foes. But it's mostly pistol ammo. A few guys in the jungle have rifles/ammo but shotgun shells are almost non-existant. A shame since the striker mod on a rare/unique shotgun is a one shot kill when you headshot zombies.

If you have the recipes, and the components to make it, you're fine. The trick is having enough money to buy the components in bulk if you want to use guns. And finding a merchant with what you need. Their stock seems to change each time you leave the map area and return (jungle to resort, etc) and when you reload.

When you find a shop keeper with scrap metal and detergent buy as much as you can afford (or want). There's no weight limit on inventory.

Aft6er reading this thread not sure if I want to get the game or not, is it worth it?

It is a fun game, but I wish your weapons lasted longer. One good thing about it is if you die then when you "come back to life" the zombies you killed before you died are still dead so all you have to do is fight off any remaining zombies in the area you died in.

I finished it and traded it in in order to pay off MW3.

I guess they were going for more of a 'Real life' feel with this one (despite all the electrified baseball bats and other strangeness). In that you're more likely to use stuff lying around as weapons. Guns and ammo are going to be fairly scarce.

There must be a bug because I couldn't find one.

But in this game, guns and ammo are all over the place in the city and the jungle. What's cheese as I mentioned earlier is you can carry 12 baseball bats or katanas, etc, but can carry a few extra boxes of ammo.

And I completely understand people losing interest in the game. I haven't touched it since the last DLC for Fallout: New Vegas came out.

I findit also stressful that you can't carry so much ammo.. It would have been nice to work on this functionality of the game.. Headshoting is always soothing though :))

And zombies go down pretty damned fast with a headshot from a unique, upgraded and modded shotgun. Tis a thing of beauty!

I've been playing co-op with 3 buddies... and that is a blast. As far as my single player game, I've resumed it and I'm almost at the end. There is a part where a bunch of bandits begin shooting at you and you don't expect zombies to pop out, but they do.... that's what turned me off... but I seem to be past that part now.
