It seems that DC Comics may undergo yet another reboot, according to some mysterious tweets from Dan Dido and Jim Lee — who are calling it a "rebirth". Rumors are abound.

I don't get the impression that this is another continuity reboot/timeline change -- more just a marketing relaunch starting over with new #1 issues as a jumping-on point for new audiences brought in by the TV and film productions, and emphasizing titles with a tie to the TV and film productions. Comics tend to start over with new #1 issues every couple of years these days, it seems.

Nope.
I'm really hoping for a real reboot, a genuine rebirth from scratch instead of the partial one last time--but I don't really expect that. I think they'll once again cherry-pick what they want to keep and jettison the stuff they don't. Other than everything being relaunched with new #1s and some new & renamed titles, I think some characters might get some new looks or tweaked costumes.
It's like a merry go round. If you don't get on before it starts spinning, you lose a tooth.
Although the other side of the equation is this, "Oo! This is good! Issue#43? Hell! I'd best buy the first 42 issues immediately! What do you mean that Issue #1 is $900?"

At least some of these constant unrelenting DC Crises or Reboots or Rebirths or whatever the hell they're calling it this week, were supposed to be exactly that. At which point does this simply become silly?

In the case of the Flash, they say it's going to align with the TV show, but how happy is that going to make the Flash people making movies?

They're changing every thing to impersonate an expansion of movies that might bomb?
Even a raging success of a blockbuster makes it money so fast, that that movie is only ion the theatres for 2 or 3 months before it's spent and has to be side lined for some bright new young thing.
I don't think that old comics people know what new movies are.

I haven't really read any of the stories about this, but I find it a little hard to believe they would do a full reboot less than five years after the last one. I could see making some changes and tweaking things, they do that constantly, but not a full, clean slate reboot.
I could see them doing a reboot to end their currently monthlies at #52...that would be cute.

Before and after Zero Hour, all the ongoing stories continuing going on, even though time had been dramatically rewritten that the Heroic Age, 40 years of vaguely unspecifided DC Time had been compacted into a detailed 10 year timeline that was a fold out, for the last pages of Zero Hour Zero.

This sounds pretty stupid especially since I've been really happy with the Batman material they've been working on. I hope nothing too much gets disrupted.
