The animation quality has definitely taken a hit, but its not unwatchable. This is still being made by the same main people (from a writing standpoint, at least) and the first run, so I'm still excited for it, and thinking it will be the first thing DC's streaming service has produced that isn't shit.

Joel McHale joins "Stargirl".

His role is given as "Sylvester Pemberton / Golden Age Starman". Now, the Golden Age Starman was Ted Knight, of course, and Sylvester Pemberton was the original Star-Spangled Kid. The show might mash these into one character, since Stargirl is kinda the successor of both of them.

Yeah. The producers probably think the name "Star-Spangled Kid" sounds too dated. Also, if they name a character "Ted Knight," a lot of people will probably think of the guy from The Mary Tyler Moore Show. (Who actually voiced several DC characters in '60s and '70s cartoons, including Commissioner Gordon, the Penguin, and Mr. Freeze, as well as narrating Super Friends. He never played Starman, though.)

First Sharknado, now this.

Only environmentally conscious productions for him, eh? ;)

Or monster-related productions. I know him mainly as the voice of the lead character from Godzilla: The Series (replacing Matthew Broderick from the '98 movie to which it was a far superior sequel).

I guess superhero roles run in that family.
So I wonder if the show's cast is going to be like his JLA run, with a combination of young heroes and older veterans?

This article also mentions that they're selling subscriptions right now at a special rate, $3.99 a month for the first three months.
I don't want to have to watch these on my phone, so I am hoping they get an app up and running for the XBox One sooner rather than later. That or I am going to need to invest in another streaming device (Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, etc.).

Until/unless they make the service available on Kindle Fire tablets and the Playstation 4, it's not worth it for me to subscribe regardless of the price.

Can you watch it on a laptop or does it have to be a mobile or streaming device? I have tablet, but I would prefer to watch on my laptop since it's not on the PS4.
