DC Animated Direct-to-DVDs

Wasn't WW originally thought of as a 2008 release that got moved back a bit? (possibly I'm mistaken)

So confirmation on Public Enemies. As I said earlier, it's a good story idea, though I have faith that the writers will drastically reduce the stupid quotient found in Loeb's actual execution of it.

If WW had been released in 2008, then there would have been 3 in 2008. So unless Public Enemies gets delayed to 2010, DC is speeding up to at least 2.5/year.

I've always hoped for a live-action Kingdom Come, but I don't see it happening. For one, it would be hard to explain "Elseworlds" to the movie going public, not to mention they'd be confused by future versions of Superman, Batman, et. al. Oh, and then there are all of the other characters, many of whom only comic fans would recgonize. Add that to the less than stellar box office for Watchmen and, well, here's hoping we at least get an animated version.

If I were in charge of Warner Brothers and got my "fanboy" wish, I'd alternate the releases with an original story featuring a different hero each time (like Wonder Woman and Green Lantern) and a faithful adaptation (more like New Frontier than Doomsday).

Of course, I'd probably end up bankrupting the studio producing Starman DVDs, but hey, the fans would be thrilled! :D

Maybe, but look at all the animated versions of Batman they've juggled over the years. And at least three versions of the X-Men.

Exactly. There's no need to explain Elseworlds, because every movie or TV adaptation of a comic book is an alternate reality to begin with.

I guess you guys have a point about that, but I still think the studio would be hesitant to release it while they still have the Nolan-Batman and possibly a Superman reboot coming out with movies.

Well WB has basically said Batman is off limits to all live action productions as long as Nolan is still doing his thing.

Public Enemies is up after Green Lantern? That's sweet. Public Enemies and the reintroduction of Supergirl by Mike Turner and Jeph Loeb are the two best arcs of the early Superman/Batman series. Kingdom Come has been discussed and Timm stated in a audio commentary or a featurette that they're definitely interested in doing it...just a matter of time it seems. When is Green Lantern coming out then if Public Enemies is also slated for release this year?

Oh wow...that is sooner than I thought! I would love to see Kingdom Come, Knightfall as a previous poster suggested. The Sinestro Corp War, JLA Earth 2, a Legion movie about the founding of the Legion of Superheroes....

It'll almost certainly never happen (at least, without Marvel's help), but as a novelty - I'd love to see adaptations of some of the Amalgam comics. Characters like Dark Claw and Super Soldier.

And I'd hate to admit it, but I'd love to see some sort of animated follow-up to Lois & Clark, with the original idea of who the baby in the finale is. Not that I'm sure they could get the cast members back to provide voices.

Superman: Last Son could make a good movie, and could also be tweaked as the Lois & Clark follow up. Also, I'm sure they could get all but one of the Lois & Clark cast to do the voice work.

Oh, please, no. The last couple of seasons of that show, and the series finale in particular, are best forgotten.

That one would be the late Lane Smith, I presume?

Great Shades of Elvis. :(

It wouldn't be the same. I think his version of the Chief was one of my favorite parts of the show.

That's actually a pretty good idea.
