David Tennant reading Dr Who...

DangerMouse

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
I've been listening to David Tennant reading Dr Who books recently, on CD...

Wow - that voice!

He does voices for all the characters too, and reads the stories sooooooooooo well.

If you are a Tennant fan and haven't had the pleasure of him reading you a bedtime story... get a CD NOW! :D

I don't even want to think of all the DT man love fantasies that will come from people hearing his voice in their ears as they drift of to sleep... :D

well which one should we look to download? which were you reading.

Tennant does read well. I listened to the preview snippet of "The Stone Rose" on iTunes a while back and it did sound pretty good. I didn't buy it, though, since I already have the novel.

I think there are four audiobooks read by Tennant:

"Feast of the Drowned"
"The Resurrection Casket"
"The Stone Rose", all released in July 2006 and
"Pest Control" from May 2008.

Please don't misunderstand me... he's not just good to listen to if you fancy him. He's a fantastic story teller and his voice has a kind of mesmerising quality that's great for listening to stories being read. Put it this way... you'll feel like a child again, with someone magical reading to you :D

Good lord, the man is amazing. He does the show, public appearances, special guest bits for concerts and CiN. Always giving 100%. And now audios? It really amazes me how he keeps from burning out on DW.

Yeah, he's awesome. One of the best Doctors, I'd say.

I listened to "Feast of the Drowned" last night and it's awesome. Tennant does a great variety of voices and accents (even a fake American one and a very good emulation of Mickey's accent) and reads the narrative parts in a way that just drags you into the story, even over its weaknesses. Just great. I'm looking forward to hearing the other ones he's done.
And I agree with Nerdius Maximus. :)

His impression of Donna in Pest Control is great, too (particularly her pronunciation of the word "Doctor")...
