David Lynch has passed

It's in the Alan Smithee version.

Villeneuve by contrast made Jamis into Paul's spirit guide, even before they had met.
I saw parts of that Smithee TV version one time. Do you know if it was ever released on DVD or Blu ray?

I read that, due to the insistence on the runtime, that Lynch had to cut scenes and then fill them with some kind of exposition, leading to the montage and the like. They even cut the scene between Jessica and Chani at the end where Jessica says to Chani that they will call the two of them wives. And they cut the death of Thufir Hawat too.

That was another thing I didn't like about the Villeneuve version. Thufir was just a minor character in the latest Dune films.

I had completely forgotten that Thufir isn't even in the second Villeneuve film. I did however complain about it at the time.
