David Cronenberg's character

JRoss

Commodore
Commodore
The preview for this week's episode shows him in it again. Any thoughts on this guy? I wonder if he's just gonna be some rando dude. But because it's Cronenberg, let's get wacky with predictions.

1: He's Control, biding his time to make sure that he can destroy Discovery for good, then take over.
2: He's a new type of Borg that's composed entirely of programmable matter. Ascended beyond anything we've seen before.
3: He's Odo.

...He's actually a man of the 20th-21st century, successfully winging it in the future thanks to having "enigmatic" and "dramatic" down pat?

Timo Saloniemi

Make him the next Doctor Who! Seriously. His grasp of temporal mechanics and the quiet authority which he yields in explaining them gives my brain many hits of dopamine. Damn he needs his own show!

Well, he's going to be appearing a second time, so he's not a rando. And his one scene with Georgiou in "Die Trying" stole the show.

I don't think he's Control, or a Borg, or Odo (that last one would be in poor taste given Rene Auberjonious' passing). But I do think he's Section 31 or whatever emerged from it or was inspired by it.

I think he may be a AI creature like Control, but more calculated and restrained, less irrationally destructive. Even more out there, could also be and/or Enterprise's infamous Future Guy...

My theory is he's some sort of specialist regarding alternate realities. He was specifically dealing with Georgiou because she was from the Mirror universe and in the Terra Firma preview
he's talking about the Kelvin Timeline.

I'll be furious if he actually turns out to be the true identity of Future Guy instead of Scott Bakula.
