Data/Dr. Soong= Canadian?

I never understood saying "zed", why does "Z" need the hard "D" sound added to it?

How do they pronounce a word like "zebra" do they say "zedbra"?

How do you pronounce the letter W? :p

What I don't understand about using "zed" is how it affects the Alphabet Song!

"...W, X, Y, and Zed...next time won't you sing with Fred?"

^
Yeah... maybe that's part of the reason why I've always said "zee" instead of "zed".

Between that and the fact that I don't like hockey, I'm really quite a terrible Canadian.

It's not as bad with the customary "now I've said my ABC's, next time won't you sing with me" but I think "Zee" works better with the flow overall.

Hmmm...yep, I totally forgot that line!

Still, "zee" rhymes better.

I'm Canadian, born in Ottawa on the 2nd of July at 12:42 A.M, so without daylight's savings time I'd have been born on Dominion day, I also served in the Canadian Army (never saw combat) and I hate saying "zed". I say "zee"
The reason I mentioned that crap about when and where I was born and all that is because I know some Canadian will come along later and say I'm not a real Canadian for saying "zee". It's happened before.

Heh, Dominon Day. Haven't heard Canada Day called that since I was looking at historical documents when I worked at a museum.

I figured it had a nice ring to it since we're on a Trek board.

In french, the letter Z sound zed, so when we speak english we also say zed
