Dark Territory: Corruption of Blood

I thoroughly enjoyed this! Great job, DK! I like the "Captain's Table" format as a change of pace. I do agree that it can be overdone, but I feel challenged to write one of my own someday.

As to Akinola and Diaz - what the hell? :wtf: Now I've got to figure out some background story to explain that little scene. Thanks a lot! 'Course, if you've got a good story to 'splain it, I'm all ears! :vulcan:

Thank everyone for reading and especially for your comments. I'm glad this story has been so well received. Right now I'm a little stuck coming up with ideas for the second and third installments, but the response gives me more encouragement and motivation to write them.

Sorry Redshirt for that curveball. I was thinking that maybe Akinola and Diaz might've have a reapprochment during the Dominion War. Perhaps we can come up with an idea together.

I was just pickin' at ya about the curveball - it was a good one! ;) It surprised me (as it apparently surprised Shelby and the others) that Akinola and Diaz would be so friendly, even at the Captain's Table. But Akinola reconciled with his daughter, so why not Diaz too? The Dominion War would certainly give ample opportunity for them to build rapport.

Ok, I tried to read your stories a few months ago and couldn't get into Glover or the stories. Now I feel the need to go back and read from the Dark Territory fount of literature. Great job, (what's up with the Breen's face?) and I loved the dinner party! Wife heard me laughing, gave her a brief synopsis of the scene and she laughed too. Never saw that coming!

Can't really think of much else to add. This was an excellent and very enjoyable story up there with the best Dark Territory tales. The ending with the Ashlain eating the egss was brilliant.

For some reason I actually thought that the final interplay between Cole and Glover gives hope to his future with Jasmine. These two people are meant for each other. It might just take a while for them to figure it out.

Awesome job here!

First off, thanks again everyone for reading and commenting. I'm glad the comments have been pretty good about this one so far.

Mistral, an extra thanks to you for giving me, Glover, and DT another chance. I'm curious about the DT stories that you read before. Which were those? Also, what about Glover and the stories turned you off?

Actually, it was the first listed story on Different Worlds: Dark Terr., and when I started it I guess on some level I never gave it a chance. So I quit reading. I was probably very tired and didn't have the energy to plough through a rapidly changing and complex landscape-which is exactly what you create. I'd also soaked up All of Vesta in 3 days and my mind probably needed a Trek break. Then I bump into a dis-likable lead character(Glover). Well, weak excuses and I'm going back to read it all when I finish the last couple of issues of the Grantville Gazette-I'm on 12 and have 13,14,15 to go. (I read at lunch, mainly). Now would somebody, anybody, tell me what they thought about The Interrogation before Scipio knocks it off of the board with all of his posts? Please? :(
