Dark Knight DVD Shipping from Amazon!

Woooooohoooooooo!

I just checked my e-mail, and Amazon's shipped my copy of The Dark Knight (2-disc, of course). First time that's ever happened -- shipping something the Thursday night/Friday morning (e-mail is dated 12/4, 10 PM) before it's released. Usually, Amazon waits until the Monday before at the earliest, if not later in the freaking week.

Anyone else have a note about their copy being shipped?

They must realize we want TDK NOW lol...

you say 2 disc. Is there a 3 disc version for BlueRay? What is the most deluxe version you can get for BluRay?

Uhm, far as I know, the ltd. edition bat-pod is the same as the blu-ray version (blu ray version is most deluxe version, more so than 2 disc DVD). I'm getting it too. And I don't even own a blu-ray player. But I want the damn bat-pod from it, and I want to have it on blu-ray for the future.

I had been planning on buying the Blu-ray, but after seeing screencaps online I'm definitely passing. Very underwhelming image quality by Blu-ray standards. I'll just rent and hold out for the inevitable double dips of both this and Batman Begins, which could also use an upgrade in the video department.

Did anyone order that naff looking edition with the "bat-mask" style case? That has to be the most impractical dvd box ever conceived. Oh and mine was just dispatched from AmazonUK too..along with Hellboy 2! ;)

Getting mine (and HB2) from Play.

Got the email yesterday, but I don't expect to see it before monday though.

I probably won't get it till Wednesday or Thursday. Cheep git that I am I took the super-saver delivery option. No rush though.

Mine is not estimated to ship until the 15th! Jesus I wanted this by Christmas but it might not even be here on time

I got the email this afternoon. I was very much looking forward to receiving the Blu-ray until I heard that Warner has once again flubbed the picture quality in their mastering process. No the Blu-ray will still look very much spectacular but it won't be reference/demo quality. A movie like TDK deserves the same perfect picture quality as achieved in POTC, Kill Bill, I-Robot, Ratatouille, Spiderman 3, etc but once again Warner Bro. falls short. Ironically Sony Pictures has been releasing top notch Blu-ray one after the other lately. This is the same studio who was responsible for early disasters like the discontinued version of The 5th Element which was indistinguishable in picture quality from the DVD version.

What I wish for is that all the quality movies are handled by the Disney/Touchstone Blu-ray team.

My copy on Blu-ray was shipped yesterday. :D

And yeah, Warner totally sucks when it comes to their releases on Blu-ray.

I was told by the owner of my local FYE since I'm a good customer he's going to let me pick up mine tomorrow (Sunday) when the store closes. He did the same when Batman Begins came out on DVD.

Yeah, I got my shipment notification on Thursday as well. As for it being early, eh, somewhat...as I've gotten shipment notifications this early before, but usually if anything, they come around Saturday or even Sunday.

Might get it by Monday, but probably Tuesday, release date for sure.

I'm looking forward to receiving my disk but... I'm sad that the special features on the special editions are going to be as shallow as those on the Batman Begins DVD. I mean I was just watching the special features on the Batman Anthology DVDs and they're comprehensive. Just top notch. Contrast those with Begins and Dark Knight and it makes me wonder why the Nolan movies are taking such a buttfucking in the special features department.

Are they for Batman Forever and Batman & Robin?

I only have Batman (1989) and Batman Returns from the anthology, and I agree a ton of awesome extra's. I hope they re-release Batman - Mask Of The Phantasm and Batman & Mr. Freeze - Subzero with a lot of extras
