I don't think you get to be "& 1/2" after about 9 or so, and certainly not after 40!

What I meant is that it will be some time before it will be my birthday (next week).

If you think of Anderson(?) from B&B evolving into Hank Hill, Daria sort of performed a similar transformation in terms of eclipsing the source material.

I really really really wanted her and Trent to work out.

^^ I don't know, I was pretty fond of the source material. And I loved Tom Anderson.

Besides the age difference, she and Trent Lane would never have worked out, mostly because despite her cynicism and aloofness, she's not a slacker and is a good student-Trent is just a lazy slacker, a '90's version of Maynard G. Krebbs from The Many Loves Of Dobie Gillis, with his 'Endicott Building' being Mystic Spiral, a band that seems to be going nowhere fast. Tom was better for her temperamentally, and just about the same age. If she married Trent, she'd be barefoot and pregnant, and trying to hold down a job while supporting Trent, who's on welfare still trying to make Mystic Spiral work.
