Well, he certainly has the height factor working in his favor. I don't know, I think it would take seeing him in costume/in character to see if he would make a good Ferengi or not. He's such a recognizable actor. It could be difficult to suspend disbelief.

Well, are there any other famous Trekkies who you can see donning alien make up? Tom Hanks was up for the Zefram Cochrane role in FC, and is a big Trekkie.

Bowie, as mentioned above, is another great choice. He already looks alien enough (and has played aliens in the past), so he wouldn't have to even wear make up! LOL!

I watched Zoolander last night and seeing David Bowie made me wonder if Ben Stiller would do it. Considering how much of a fan he is (and the obvious inspiration of the villain in that movie) I'd say yes
