Damn! It's hot!

We've been over 100 F for a few days now. Yesterday we tied a record for the day-- 108 F! Today should be cooler...only 105 F.

At 10 pm last night, it was 91 F. At 7 am (right now), it's already 82 F. We should drop below highs over 100 sometime later this week.

Over 37.8 C.

It's been close to that here in New Jersey for the past couple weeks. It's horrible. They say it might be the hottest June on record. Fuck!

I love it when temperatures get this high, it feels great! What I don't love is that people and businesses seem to think that they need to set the temperature on their air conditioners about 10 degrees lower to compensate. After about 5 minutes indoors I start to freeze my ass off. Just because it's really hot outside doesn't mean I want to be really cold inside!!

It's about 30C in my room and 35C in my growing cupboard. Had to take the chilli plants out of there to stop them from drooping. I might have to buy an air con. unit or something.

Yeah, it's been over 90 for about 3 weeks now in the swamplands of the Mid-Atlantic. The humidity has been stuck at 60-70%, giving us heat indexes in the 100s and constant air quality alerts. It's all a little ahead of schedule; we're not supposed to average over 90 until July. Appropriately, we're supposed to get a couple days of respite Weds-Fri this week, but it'll all be back to the upper 90s in time for people to stroke out during 4th of July celebrations. :vulcan:

Honestly, I don't mind it that much, I even sort of like it to be properly hot. I do, however, enjoy complaining about the weather, so it would be nice if it would drop below 85 at night.

It's been hot here, in Oklahoma for a couple of weeks, but a cold front came early Monday morning and dumped some rain. We're slated to be below 90º through next Monday with nightly lows in the lower 70's and even upper 60's. The humidity, of course, is up due to the rain, but the cooler nights make it more bearable. I'm running a fan in the bedroom and wish my Big Boy didn't have a burned out motor; otherwise, I could keep the entire house cool with the amount of air it can push.

Yeah, it was 104 here yesterday. Today it'll be a breezy 99.

God Bless the Central Valley!

Oh, the air quality is what makes it so nice here!;) We're "bad for sensitive people"; Bakersfield is "bad for everyone."

ETA: This is why CA is so big on air quality issues.

I remember a family vacation in the Sacramento area one summer in the 70s. Bad idea.

After three days well over 115 F (that's 46 C), Dad figured a day at Lake Tahoe would be good. Unfortunately, so did just about everyone else.

And here I was feeling that our 84F-ish temperatures over the last week could do with being a degree or two less. 80-82F would be absolutely spot-on. ;)

What were you doing during the brownout the other night? It picked the very moment I was in the bathroom to happen. Not a big deal normally, but for a man with cerebral palsy (me), getting around in the dark was an adventure. The ONE time I took the flashlight out of the bathroom.......

Thankfully I know my way around my house.

Randy,

You shouldn't make fun of people who are handicapped with special needs. Someone here might get his/her vagina full of sand and pick that very moment to be offended.

TIA!!!

I just came home from Las Vegas. The temperature was hitting at least 100 every day, and while it was certainly hot, it was perfectly fine if you were in the shade. Humidity is nice and low out there in the desert. Now that I'm back home in the mid-atlantic, the temperature is nearly as high and all of that gross, sticky humidity is back. Ugh.

No brown outs here ... yet. It's always possible, though.

I do love my air-conditioning. It's set at 78 F (26 C). Higher and I can't think or sleep. Lower than 77 F and it gets too cold.
