Spoilers Dahj's Boyfriend

I feel ridiculous bringing it up, but am I the only one that thought there was a noticeable resemblance to John Boyega as he appeared in The Rise Of Skywalker? I mean on the surface it sounds stupid, but the hair, and the outfit, look so ridiculously similar.

I don't mean to imply that it was intentional, I merely want to know if Im the only person who thought it.

I kinda see it? A tiny little bit? To be honest, I was too busy trying to remember what species he was meant to be (Poe's people from Short Treks/Discovery)

And I missed that the knife that killed him was the same as Shinzon's. Thank you, internet.
 
I thought this thread would be about how her boyfriend seemed to be of the same species as the alien girl in Children of Mars. Their eyes were very similar, I thought, and didn't her boyfriend have the dots on his face too?
 
I thought this thread was going to be a complaint about producers trying to connect Picard to Discovery by making the boyfriend Xahean.

think differently then. And don't Quote only part of what I said , I said how Boyega appears in The Rise Of Skywalker, that styling of his hair in that film, his outfit in that film, if all you see in the comparison is that their black, then perhaps something is wrong with you

Even if there is a similarity, it would have to be entirely coincidental. Picard started filming April 22, eleven days after the first trailer for Rise of Skywalker was released. Pretty sure that's too soon to influence any production decisions.

As a person of colour this didn't immediately come to mind for me. I think it would be a fair claim if Dahj was hanging out with a group where her boyfriend was the only alien of colour. I think it was nice touch to not just have an interspecies relationship but also an interracial one. The character was meant to die regardless of his racial background

it's a superficial similarity, but one that just made me shake my head at first sight, I don't suggest it was intentional, but when I stop and think about it, Alex Kurtzman's involvement in this show, he and JJ Abrams are pretty tight , and it's very much within the realm of possibility that Kurtzman saw what Finn looked like in the film before the public did. if intentional, then I have no idea of the why, other than either homage, or lack of originality. I showed screenshots to a few Friends who are very obsessive about Star Wars, and they were basically all saying "It's Finn" so I was Curious if Trek Fans saw the same similarities
