Guess I'm part of the crowd that likes Jefferies' Daedalus.

Jefferies didn't intend for that ship to be the Daedalus. Greg Jein made that connection. (I'm sure he wasn't the first).

Why not ask him? Heck, it couldn't hurt, he wanted to use the Daedalus design right from the start anyway, so who knows, he may not be adverse to christening the new design "Daedalus class"???
