D7!!!.... huh?

Well they used the Season 1 BoP design in Episode 12, so they didn't scrap the other ships completely.

Though it was also a flashback, so it would be weird if they used a new design.
I was half surprised that they actually refrained from using the new D7 in that flashback

I see that you continue your well established practice of making well articulated points with logical arguments to back up your position...

Classic D7 and K't'inga are much more similar to each other than the classic D7 is to DIS D7 or various iterations of Constitution class are to each other. K't'inga is very moderate texture update, not a new class of a ship.

The K'T'inga is closer to the DSC D7 than it is the TOS D7.

I doubt it, the engine shape at least is completely different. But it is hard to say for sure until we get a proper view.

the warp engines are the only thing majorly different. The impulse engines come from the K'tinga, the rear torpedo tube is there from the K't'inga, and the feather-like hull panelling the exact same pattern as the K't'inga.

The TOS D7 doesn't even have that pattern. Though the DS9 update for T&T does.

D7 is what Starfleet calls the ship (also possibly the Klingons), K'Tinga is the Klingon name for the same ship. The ones in TMP and beyond had more detail because they weren't being put on 1960's TV sets.

As much as it pains me to say :guffaw:, @Longinus is dead right about them being the same ship.

Like many military vehicles, they are probably just a sub-class. It's probably that simple. Nobody on screen ever established that the K'tinga was not a D7 variant, or even vis a vis. That idea just comes from the Star Trek: Encyclopedia, and other such sources, and I'm sure Mike Okuda was only speculating. So the reality could simply be that D7 is a Starfleet name for the general class, and K'tinga a Klingon name for a sub-class for example.

Sure, it could be the D7-B or D7-C type. SF called the D'Deridex a "B-type Warbird", but unknown which one was the A-type.

There can be multiple designations for ships depending on a number of factors. So it would not surprise to hear such distinctions, as well as some short haded phrasing.

I thought this was a guitar thread
I like a wee D7, but ultimately if I'm going for dreamy and melodic, I'll plump for a D Major 7
Klingon ships ?
Can't say I'm fussed

I Mean like episode about Saru’s planet. It was a big deal that they did a massive change to their society and in the next episode, nobody mentioned it. Even when the time-tsunami happened they didn’t even bother to check if that did damage to the planet.
Admiral Cromwell was playing a big part until she randomly vanished when the Angel appeared. You’d think she would want to speak with her. Also, in the episode before that they say that they needed the power of 12 Warp cores to grab her, which is why they went to the planet but in the next one, they mention that they have dark matter which will be enough.
Tyler was stabbed pretty badly in last week’s episode and in this one he seems fine, with no mention to it at all.
With this being a thing this show does, I expect the D7 to not appear in this week’s episode.

Yeah, I must admit - I was half expecting to see Tyler in sickbay after being stabbed, or at least wincing when moving / talking / hugging Michael - buuuut not a thing to be seen...

It was just a flesh wound. He's had worse......no literally he's had much worse, he was flayed down to a human if you go with the idea he was the Klingon and not the Human.

Actually, that’s a very salient point! Probably pales in comparison to his previous experiences.

‘Tis but a flesh wound!’

;)
