CW renews iZombie, the 100, Flash, arrow and more

On Friday, CW boss Mark Pedowitz announced early renewals for 11 of its shows, including Arrow (Season 5), The Flash (Season 3), the Vampire Diaries (Season 8), The Originals (Season 4), iZombie (Season 3), Legends of Tomorrow (Season 2), Supernatural (Season 12), The 100 (Season 4), Jane the Virgin (Season 3) and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Season 2).

Even cellar-dweller Reign is coming back for Season 4

Good news for fans of these shows!

No surprise on The Flash but I'm excited The Vampire Diaries gets a season 8. I'm pretty sure this makes it the longest running vampire show ever (True Blood and Buffy both lasted 7 seasons).

i'm surprised Reign was renewed. i enjoy the show, i just didn't expect it since its ratings are not so great.

*checks* Yep. Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow are second and third, respectively. The highest rated non-DC show is Supernatural. Source

Depends on whether you count the original DARK SHADOWS soap opera back in the sixties, which racked up over a thousand episodes over the course of five years. TVD has been on the air longer than DS, but is still way behind in total number of episodes.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is a great show. I really hope they are able to grow their audience. It's currently the lowest rated broadcast show. Rachel Bloom's Golden Globe and Critics Choice wins probably saved it.
