CW looking to develop a Raven series

I meant live action. A television show would have a low budget, so the visual effects would probably be very cheesy compared to the upcoming movie.

Depends on the network and just how big the budget would be. A GL show on the CW would have pretty cheap FX, but if it were on FOX or NBC, it might be more effective (though most likely Earthbound).

Clark is always taken down by Kryponite almost every week on on Smallville.

Superheroes need weaknesses, especilaly powerful ones like a GL or the story won't work. I see the same thing happening with GL getting tricked into taking off his ring all the time, which is what Batman did in the scene mentioned, followed by villains punching him out.

Well, isn't GL's contrived weakness the color yellow? Which has always struck me as even sillier than Kryptonite.

Still, a creative staff could come up with more ways to make GL vulnerable. The ring depends on willpower and fearlessness, right? So a GL could be made vulnerable through intense distraction, loss of confidence, anxiety, depression -- the whole thing could be very psychological, which would be great for TV writing.

It is explained that the weakness to the color yellow had to do with the fear entity Parallax. There is no need to rewrite a Green Lantern's weakness when Geoff Johns has already done so :)
