CW is making a pilot for remake of "La Femme Nikita"

It's strange they changed the name of Section One.

I don't really understand what this show is yet, it seems like it's half re-imagining and half sequel.

I imagine it's mostly a reboot. The previous version was cancelled ten years ago--which means it's ancient history as far as the CW's primary demographic goes.

Making it a sequel to the old show would just confuse modern audiences.

The inevitable comparisons...

CBS is also in negotiations to pick up the spy drama Chaos for midseason, and USA has a spy series called Covert Affairs (starring Piper Perabo) in the works. Spy shows were all the rage this development season.

Since Covert Affairs comes out July 13 on USA cable channel I'm guessing Nikita will be compared to it as well as "Undercovers" spy thriller series on NBC co-created by J.J. Abrams .
