While I am a fan of quite a few of the Discovery ship designs, I always find a few things about them that I'd change without making so many changes as to make the ship unrecognizable.
First up is the U.S.S. Avenger NCC-1037, a Crossfield-class ship (without the shroom-vroom drive and therefore no spinny bits on the saucer...silly feature IMHO) with customized nacelles designed for an experimental arc-warp drive (this drive is designed specifically to be more energy efficient and to be able to sustain high warp speeds for longer, it's not any faster than the Crossfield's standard warp drive.) I also had a friend mock up the Main Engineering compartment of the ship, which is posted below the images of the ship too.
Feedback/ideas on these ships will be more than welcome as well. I'll be posting other Discovery ships here as I finish their models and textures too.
