Brings up a cool current technology. There's a military tech company that developed a thermal (IR) cloaking technology. It's a bunch of little computer controlled panels affixed to the entire exterior of a vehicle. Sensors read the ambient temperatures of the immediate surrounding environment, configure the panels (like pixels) to change temperature and thereby blend that vehicle into the environment... It's pretty cool!

Camo paint job on a Starfleet ship, hmm ok fine I can accept that. With ther appropriate sensor masking system that might work. But wouldn't the brightly painted shark head on the front give away their position?
Still not sure why Starfleet would break from the norm and add the painted head-thingy in the first place.
As for toilets, I thought it was just beamed out of the individual and dispersed across the galaxy.
