Does anyone else think that Rowan Atkinson played a pretty damned interesting Doctor?
All the crazy insane hillarious silliness aside, (such as communicating through flatulance), yet keeping some dark humour and the seriousness that was conveyed, and I think he did a great job.
And if not, who would YOU choose to be the ideal actor to play the Doctor, and what characteristics and traits would you like him to convey.
Sorry- no women. Unless she's a super horny space lesbian.

. But if he was ever cast I'd get behind him.

They aren't. It's a complete fallacy perpetuated by the UK media who love to knock anything that's popular. The most recent series went out early in the evening (earlier than any previous series since 2005 - barely in primetime), with an inconsistent timeslot, during a very hot summer (for Britain). Viewers now know that they can watch the show on the BBC iPlayer for up to seven days after broadcast, and final ratings have shown that people are indeed doing this. The overnight ratings may be down from the last series, two years ago, but they really don't mean anything now in the multi-channel digital age. In fact, taking this into account, the show has actually performed fantastically in the final analysis.
