Cupcake (spoilers)

Re: What of Cupcake?

It will be revealed in the sequel.... The Vengeance of Cupcake.

Cupcake: I shall leave you as you left me, marooned for all eternity at the center of a frosty, tasty treat... baked alive. Baked alive.
Kirk: CUPCAKEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

Re: What of Cupcake?

I just thought of "Cupcake".

I wonder how he's doing now that Kirk's the Captain of the Enterprise...

Figure someone's gonna be wanting a transfer REAL quick? :D

EDIT:
Someone suggested this the other day... I wonder if we see him again his last name will be revealed to be "Finnegan"? Heh heh heh...

I thought about this too. He definitely just got demoted to toilets, that's for sure. They should have put him in the crowd of cadets and have him scowling at Kirk as he gets promoted.

Re: Cupcake = Finnegan?

The new altered timeline could have Finnegan's parents moving to the States and raising him there. Thus no Irish accent.

Would that qualify as a Finnegan begin again? :D

Now, I might buy that the hitchiker Kirk passes on the Iowa road was spposed to be Finnegan. (His lankyness and overall look was Finnegan-esqe.)

The hitchhiker was Kirk's brother. You can just barely hear it when Kirk shouts his name as he passes in the car ("Sammy!").

As for Cupcake: God help him. That ain't gonna end well. Either Kirk's going to stick him in waste extraction so as to never have to deal with him again, or Cupcake (who surely still carries a grudge after all this time) will refuse one of Kirk's orders and will be kicked out of Starfleet.

Actually I think he yells out "Johnny" but it is supposed to be his brother (name change). Maybe.....who knows.....?>????

Re: Cupcake = Finnegan?

No, I'm fairly sure it was Sammy.

In the novelization, it's made a lot more clear. AFAIK, Sam originally had a bigger role in the film but like so many other scenes, it was cut. I think this is his only remaining appearance.

(Their stepdad must have been asshole central...the car was George Sr.'s, and stepdad was gonna sell it without telling Mom? )

EDIT:

The boy on the road being Kirk's brother.

I see no evidence on-screen that this is the case. ;)

Star Trek XII should reveal that Cupcake is Finnegan's long-lost twin brother. That would be freakin hilarious.

Maybe you don't see it, but you can hear it. Kirk definitely yells out "SAMMY!" as he whizzes by in the car.

So, how does him saying "Sammy" identify the guy as his brother?

Because we already know Kirk's brother's name. It's George Samuel Kirk, Jr. Kirk's the only one who calls him Sam, though.

This movie may change many things, but character names aren't one of them.

He yells, 'Johnny'
I have seen the movie 4 times in the theatre and have downloaded it as well.
I guarantee it is not 'Sammy.'

I do recall an interview where Sam was going to be in the movie, but they decided not to and cut him out.

BTW no one lecture me for downloading it, I am still going to see it in the theatre again (5th time), and I am going to buy the DVD when it comes out, so Paramount will get my money.
