The new Sherlock Holmes was also rumored to be up for the role of the Eleventh Doctor

Benedict Cumberbatch has hinted that he will appear in future episodes of Doctor Who.

The actor recently worked with showrunner Steven Moffat on the new BBC drama Sherlock.

Speaking to DS, Cumberbatch teased that he wouldn't appear in just one episode of Doctor Who.

He also praised the show, saying: "I'm a huge fan of the series and amazing people do amazing work in it in all parts of the episodes."

The next Master perhaps?

Think I'd prefer just about any one to John Simm. I've never been happy with his take on the character.

That doesn't surprise me. When I saw a clip of the new Sherlock on the tv a couple of days ago, I thought to myself then that Matt Smith could have been cast, if this was the "look" they were going for, for the new Sherlock. Then I saw that the show is made by the "makers of Dr Who", and now this guy might have been up for the role of 11. Seems they might have had a "look" in mind when casting 11.

I don't want to say "Look at how Sherlock is dressed, that's a borderline Doctor costume" but....

Someone needs to photoshop a sonic in Sherlock's hand and a TARDIS in the background... :)

And I think it would have been neat just to see the name "Benedict Cumberbatch" flying at the screen in the opening credits...sounds like a Dickens character or something...

Looking at the ads for Sherlock, they seem to have missed the point of the character and turned him into a complete twunt.

Bones doesn't like something? And the world gasps in shock and awe...

There already is one. It's called The Talons of Weng Chiang. It's very good..

Nothing wrong with another one for the millions of current fans who never saw the original episodes. Probably best to make it after that former episode in Sherlock's life to keep the canon loving oldie fans happy ey :).

Nah, Sherlock's not in that episode. The Doc just dresses up like him, is what they are referring to.

And dammit Bones, I was just messing with you. Must we continue to do this? Truce, you humorless......person? ;)

It's a mixture of twat and c***. Because I doubt you can get away with saying the c word on here, and I consider it bad form to throw that word around in polite discussion anyway. I was thinking the other day that there are lots of relatively inoffensive words in the English language for a stupid person, but pretty much none for an unpleasant person. Which this Sherlock seems to be.
