Crusher/Picard..why not???

I think Beverly Crusher loved Picard. And for what ever reason, the writers just didn't press it. I think, at the end of the series, they should have taken it further. Yes, I know, Picard had his career. But at the end of season seven he had done SO much, the universe owed him a little love in his life.

In my opinion, Crusher wanted Picard. I read somewhere that it was going to come out that Wesley was his (would make since, especially with Q so interested in Picard). I keep wondering why they never let Picard end up with Beverly? To prop up the dedication of his career? They hinted that a character on TNG would turn out to be Gay. Maybe they left Picard/Crusher unresolved because they were going to 'go there'. (Which would have made no difference to me, and I think, would have explained a great deal)..

What do some of you think?

In far too many series we have seen that the sexual tension is great, but once it becomes a relationship, it becomes cliche and boring!

Patrick Stewart didn't want to go there, either. He said it would take all the tension of the relationship away. Remember what happened when Maddie and David hooked up in 'Moonlighting'? Ruined the show.

yea i think it was part of the sexual tension or romantic tension thing that the writers wanted to keep. although, by the time the movies came, they seemed to have gotten closer, expanding on the season 7 developments in their relationship. mabye.

Picard probably took his time in pursuing Beverly just because she was his best friend's wife. Even though Jack's been dead for years, I can see why Picard would be uneasy about going after her. He might think he'd be betraying Jack by doing that.
