Exactly! The quality of the model work is great here, but why did they have to take what was basically a good, clean, Surya-like design, and uglify it, by slapping a useless squashed secondary hull on the top of it?
It's not just them... this is something I see a LOT of fanfilm producers do... it's like a fixation, to modify ships that don't need to be modified. Remember... the design ethic of TOS was functional simplicity... keep with that... keep it simple, and uncomplicated.
