Best Ensemble just went to Inglorious Basterds. Avatar won Best Action Movie

Shut out. Oh well, to have been nominated was also cool.

Yeah, it sucks. Unfortunately, this will probably be repeated at every other awards show, including the Oscars.

More proof that Star Trek was a mess and a flop :p:p

Re: Critic's Choice Awards Tonight - Star Trek Competing in 5 Categori

God, what does Star Trek have to do to win things! Abrams tossed out all the depth and context of Star Trek and it still didn't help it get any awards.

Re: Critic's Choice Awards Tonight - Star Trek Competing in 5 Categori

^^

Being nominated is a big thing, even though it didn't win anything.

It didn't have depth, but it definitely had the context of Trek...which made it popular for people to see it, and enough to be nominated.

And, I'm liking SalvorHardin's avatar...

Well, Trek had no luck at the Golden Globes either. Looks like its Oscar chances are nil, now.

Snobs. This was supposed to be Trek's big comeback year! If Avatar hadn't come along, Trek would have stood a better chance.

I won't be happy until a Trek film is the number one box office hit of the year, and a multiple Oscar winner!

Star Trek actually still has a decent chance at an Academy BP nomination.

Well, Star Trek didn't exactly light up the international box office, and the Golden Globes are put on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (who happily take bribes), and Paramount is cheap.

^Yeah, I bet Cameron opened up his wallet to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Precisely! What do they have to do to get mainstream cred? Get Clint Eastwood to direct? Get Phillip Seymour Hoffman to play an AIDS victim? WHAT? :klingon:

You see those are all the categories it should be competitive in.

Avatar should win Best Makeup.
Avatar should win Best VFX
Inglorious should get Best Acting Ensemble.
